For a hamlet of its size, Mitta Mitta packs a real punch when it comes to the provision of services to residents and visitors alike. Resident-volunteers over the years have worked hard to create a unique community infrastructure that is the envy of much larger communities. 
Mitta Primary School
The historic and recently refurbished Mitta Pub located on the picturesque banks of Snowy Creek. A very popular destination for the fisherman, families or traveller looking for a wonderful dining  and accommodation experience in magnificent surroundings.
Mitta Mitta Primary School (no 887) was established in 1869, then known as Snowy Creek State School.  Today this well-equipped magnificent school has a small student population and excellent community support.
The central meeting place in the hamlet, the Mitta General Store provides convenience items, post office, fresh coffee and snacks from 8am daily. Fresh brewed coffee is a speciality at this fantastic stop-over.

Emergency Services are situated right in the town. Mitta has a one-man Police Station and there is a combined purpose-built SES-CFA station manned by volunteers. Ambulance Victoria operates a well-equipped 4WD ambulance and is available 24/7.  For all emergencies call 000.
The Magorra Park was established in 1884 for park and recreational purposes. At one time a racecourse was operated there but now is the centre of sporting activities for the town and includes a magnificent 9-hole golf course (par 72, ACR 68, 5780m) together with a football ground, tennis & netball courts. The Mitta Caravan Park also operates from the site.


The Butcher's Hook craft shop in the centre of town offers a wide array of crafts, all sourced locally. With a wide range of postcards and cards made by Mitta based artists and photographers, you will be sure to find a special memento from your trip to the Mitta Valley. Right next to the hotel, this building was the ex ANZ Bank, reputed to be the smallest bank building in Australia.

Mitta Airport (privately owned) is available for visiting tourists, pilot training and air ambulance medical evacuations.  Running parallel to the Omeo Highway, Mitta Airport is one of only two airports in the Towong Shire.  [pilot info...]

The picnic and swimming area on Snowy Creek just behind behind the Mitta Pub is a favourite place, particularly during the warmer months. This is also a great place to throw in a line and catch a trout or just sit and take in the beauty.

Union Church
Historical Precinct  The Pioneer Mine and historical tourist precinct is an easy way for visitors to become familiar with Mitta's mining origins.
Mitta Mitta Hall is a popular venue for entertainment, celebrations, parties and meetings.
The Mitta Union Church caters for Protestant denominations including the Uniting and Anglican Churches.
St Joseph's Catholic Church was built around 1889 and regular services are still conducted. Extensive renovations were completed in September 2014.
Communications Telstra 4G (only) is available in the town. A local UHF repeater operates on Ch1. Internet is via Telstra wireless or NBN SkyMuster satellite.
Magorra Park Multi-function Community Centre was completed late 2014 and is used for football club, child care and other community activities.
